Dear Pennies & Pens,
It’s Pen here to pen-cil in another New York Fashion Week review. This time it’s all about Zang Toi’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection. As you all know, I’ve been covering Zang Toi for the past few seasons and he’s definitely one of my favorite NYC based designers. Zang always does the most amazing shows because every piece is on point as far as tailoring and fit, not to mention his use of color, the amazing silhouettes, I could go on and on.
The press materials for the Spring/Summer collection included a lovely story that illustrated the inspiration for the collection. The story was about the romantic French Riviera and it starred Madame Du Chateau Lourmarin as she relaxes in the garden until her lover appears. In essence, this story set the mood for a collection that was made with love and one that showcased pastel colors, luxurious fabrics, and intricate details.
The stand out pieces included a pink one shoulder gown that was encrusted with ice crystals which was worn by none other than the fabulous Georgie Badiel. There was also a purple dress with a matching jacket that would be perfect for work and an after 5 networking event. Another sophisticated look came in the form of a black skirt suit which I tweeted would surely land you your dream job because it was both chic and professional. Other great looks came in the form of black and grey herringbone suits and dresses.
Overall, the collection was very beautiful and I truly enjoyed it. The color palette was great because it featured Spring pastels but also the staple black pieces which one can never go wrong with. In essence, it was another stylish collection by Zang. One last thing, I also got snap a pic of Bill Cunningham who was also at the show. Check out the photo on The Blogging PR Girl.
And there it is. de la Pen…All Pen Everything.
