Dear Pennies & Pens,
In this post, Pen’s Rhythm Nation: Unboxing OVERDRIVE by I.M, I open I.M’s 2nd solo EP, OVERDRIVE. I.M is a soloist and member of MONSTA X, The Kings of K-Pop.
I must admit that while I love this album, I am less than thrilled with the packaging. First, I don’t like that it comes in a plastic bag. Something about it feels a little cheap. I also didn’t like the photocards I pulled. While it may seem artistic, the photocards were just weird to me.
I want to tread lightly saying this because I know that I.M and his team at Sony Music Korea put in so much work to create and release this album. And as a creative myself, I know it can be tough to take negative criticism. So I sincerely apologize if I offended anyone.
Pen’s Rhythm Nation: Unboxing OVERDRIVE by I.M
In the vlog below, I unbox OVERDRIVE by I.M. You’ll see me break down what I did and didn’t like about the album’s packaging. There were things I liked such as the photobooks, the ID card and the lenticular card. So my feelings are not all negative.
Also I believe that I.M will find his way as a solo artist. The album itself is absolutely incredible! Sound wise he outdid himself with this album. It feels like Duality 2.0. And it’s beautiful to see.
