Live Loud: Why You Should Vote in the 2020 Election

Dear Pennies & Pens, 

In the video from below, I talk about why you should vote in the 2020 Election. This election is so important and not just the Presidential election but the US House of Representatives, US Senate and local government offices also have extremely important races as well. 

This election could finally bring forth change because if we can get more diversity in the Senate in particular, we can get more legislation passed that would help everyday Americans. For example, many people don’t realize that the second stimulus package which included stimulus checks for all Americans and extended unemployment benefits was passed by the House of Representatives but blocked in the Senate. 

This is why the additional unemployment expired in July and was never renewed. Furthermore, the Senate took 2 breaks in this pandemic. That is beyond ridiculous because 28 million Americans were laid off because of Covid. And fyi: it was the government – federal, state, and local who mandated that businesses close which is what caused all the layoffs. So the fact that they took multiple breaks and never came up with a resolution to help people is not okay. They are the reasons we are in this mess – do not let them fool you into thinking anything different. 

They run around acting like those who have been laid off are just being lazy with statements like “Americans need to get back to work”. Lol so people are to jeopardize their lives to make money? Why so we can pay taxes so you can take a break even though you’re the reason most of us lost our jobs in the first place?! Get the fuck out of here. No seriously. 

So anyway, in the video below, I go into detail about why you should vote in the 2020 election. I have already voted (I voted this morning) so I want to encourage others to do the same. If you’re in Texas, please check out this amazing article created by the Texas Tribune – it outlines who’s running for what office and even notes which races are the ones to watch. This will help you get more educated on the candidates and issues so you can decide who you want to vote for. 

If you’re not in Texas, please do what I did which is Google “2020 general election state name ballot” from there you should be able to find an article that outlines the candidates and issues in your state. This way, you’re equipped with knowledge to make the best choice possible. If you’re like me and you’re tired of a bunch of old white men running basically everything then GO VOTE!!! 

There are so many candidates of diverse backgrounds running for the US Senate, House of Representatives, Texas Supreme Court and the local school districts. Pennies & Pens, we can really change the world – starting with the ballot. Let’s work together to bring forth change! 

One last note, this video features EXPLICIT CONTENT. It is not made for conservatives or children, so if you’re a member of those groups, please do not engage. Since I disclose that there is cursing in this video, I do not want to hear any complaints because I clearly stated what it was. Besides, there’s got to be something else that you can complain about besides the fact that Penny cursed in a YouTube video. The things that some of yall find time to get upset about is mind boggling.
