This is going to sound random but if I wasn’t Black, I would be Mexican, little baby! And I mean that in the most respectful way. I love Mexican food, music, art, fashion and culture.
I was reminded of this when I discovered Mexican American pop artist, Becky G. I was browsing thru Apple Music looking for new music to listen to when Becky G popped up.
Intrigued by her debut album, Mala Santa’s cover art, I added it to my library. Since then, this album has been in constant rotation. Even though this album is entirely in Spanish and ya girl don’t speak a lick of Sponish, I love this album with everything in me. It has a true VIBE!!!
My favorite tracks include: Mala Santa, Dollar (ft. Myke Towers), 24/7, and No Te Pertenezco. Since I don’t speak Spanish fluently, I can’t really tell you the meaning of these songs. But I’m telling you, if you’re a music connoisseur like me, you will appreciate this album. It really just has an authentic sound that is truly refreshing.
I recommend listening to Mala Santa while working out, working on business projects or doing day to day chores such as cooking, cleaning or laundry.
Mala Santa is the perfect mix between uptempo and midtempo tracks so it keeps your energy vibe positive while giving you something to groove to. It’s truly a universal album.
