Dear Pennies & Pens,
Three years ago, I launched my own version of Friendsgiving with my Pensgiving event. I am so excited to report that the event has grown and become my signature annual event.
As an Event Planner, it feels so nice when your vision comes to life. All I know is that when I started this event, I didn’t expect it to grow the way that it has. As we move into 2020, I look forward to seeing what the future holds.
Pensgiving, an exclusive social event
Pensgiving is an exclusive social event + dinner party for multicultural millennials and creatives. Pensgiving is committed to helping attendees, relax and have fun. Itās about celebrating life and being thankful for what you have.
Furthermore, Pensgiving is dedicated to spreading awareness of Veganism and educating attendees about the Vegan lifestyle. In essence, Pensgiving brings multicultural millennials and creatives together to nibble on some tasty eats, sip on good dranks and meet cool peeps.
V-Ink at Pensgiving
Pensgiving features a home cooked meal of plant based cuisine. The Pensgiving menu features a variety of traditional Soul Food + Thanksgiving dishes. We only serve Vegan food at Pensgiving because our Creator, LoudPen is Vegan and loves spreading the plant based diet.
Pen recognizes that many people donāt understand the plant based lifestyle, therefore, we created a platform that would give people the opportunity to sample Vegan food and learn more about the Vegan lifestyle.
Pensgiving, an InkBrand
Pensgiving was created in the spirit of nostalgia and our love for Black American pop culture with a special emphasis on the 90s. We decided to bring the flavor to the concept of āFriendsgivingā hence why our branding was inspired by the all-white TV show, Friends.
Pensgiving 2019, the Sponsors
Since itās not cheap to keep the Pensgiving inkevent running, weāre working with several sponsors for 2019. Weāre excited to announce that Follow Your Heart and Tofurky have joined us as sponsors for the second year in a row. Also, Llano Wines is joining us as a sponsor for 2019. Keep reading the ink to learn more about these fabulous brands.
Follow Your Heart
Follow Your Heart is one of the oldest and most iconic Vegan brands. They are the creators of Vegenaise, the original and #1 Vegan mayo as well as Vegan salad dressings, cheeses, yogurts, and VeganEgg.
Weāll be sampling and pairing their Vegan cheeses with Llano Wines. We love wine but we find that itās hard to find delicious Vegan cheeses that pair well with wine. Insert Follow Your Heart, a brand that we genuinely love and canāt wait to sample with Llano Wine. We cannot wait for the inktasting! Itās going be amazing.
Tofurky
Tofurky creates plant-based proteins. They make everything from deli meat to their signature Tofurky ā Vegan turkey. In fact, itās the Tofurky and their Veggie Ham Roast that weāll be serving at Pensgiving.
I truly believe that Tofurky should be a staple at every Vegan Holiday Dinner. Itās delicious and easy to make! Forget struggling with a dead bird, instead eat an environmentally friendly and tasty Tofurky.
Llano Wine
Llano Wines is the largest, best-selling premium winery in Texas, producing wines of world-class quality and introducing the entire globe to the fine wines made in the Lone Star State.
I couldnāt be more excited to be working with a local Texas brand. I cannot wait to sample these wines and see how they pair with Follow Your Heart cheeses. Weāll be tasting both their Whites and Reds as well as a Rose`.
Pen Tea: What happened at Pensgiving 2019
As far as the Pen Tea aka what happened at Pensgiving 2019, we had a blast! This yearās attendees included Michelle Nelson (@OurWordsHavePower), Milana Davis (@LoveWithLana), and Taylor Mosley (@WhatTaylorLikes). We started the event by sampling Llano Wine that we paired with various Follow Your Heart Cheeses.
After that, we sat down and had dinner. The menu included Tofurky (Vegan turkey), Veggie Ham Roast, Collard Greens, Baked Sliced Potatoes with Red Onion, Sauteed Spinach and Mushrooms, Mac n Cheese, and a Green Salad. Yall know Pensgiving is always a feast!
It was such a dope event! I had a great time connecting with fellow creatives to talk about business, blogging, social media and spill just a bit of pen tea. I have big plans for Pensgiving 2020 so yall stay tuned for more details.
And there it is. de la Pen…All Pen Everything. With us, keeping it real never goals wrong.
