It’s ya girl LoudPen here to let you know that my new book, The Loudest Pen Ever just dropped! I can’t believe that I’m the author of two books. Ever since I was a little girl, I dreamed of writing and publishing my own book. So now that I have two, it feels surreal.
I started writing The Loudest Pen Ever two years ago. I was just fed up with all the bullshit that life was throwing my way. So I started writing a book of quotes that allowed me to vent my frustrations. As I continued writing, I also included reflections on pop culture, love, and family. The book turned out to be the best form of therapy.
I think that’s why out of every product I’ve ever created, I care about The Loudest Pen Ever sales the least. Don’t get me wrong, as an Entrepreneur, I want the book to sell but I don’t stress it because I wrote that book for myself. So when someone buys it, it just feels like I’m making money off of following my dreams. And that’s the best type of money that anyone can make.
That’s why I love being a Lifestyle Entrepreneur. Any money I make doesn’t really feel like work. Why? Because I make money doing what I love. I love writing, it comes easily and naturally to me. And The Loudest Pen Ever was so fuckin easy to write. Like honestly, it was so much fun. I wrote the quotes over 2 years and then I wrote the chapters in two weeks.
The words flowed from my head to my pen. It was such a simple, natural process. I didn’t have to create an outline or any of that other shit because I wanted the book to be a completely creative work. Therefore, it’s basically just a collection of my thoughts and ideas. It has structure but not too much.
Originally, The Loudest Pen Ever was the name of my autobiography that I started writing in college. Then when I lost the manuscript, I used the name for my first blog. Even though I shut down that blog in 2010 when I started de la Pen, I knew I wanted to reuse the name. So when I started writing my new book, I knew that name would work perfectly.
And I’m so happy I did because I truly believe that the name is dope. The Loudest Pen Ever is a great title because it makes you wonder what it is and what it’s about. Plus it’s a play on the name of one of my favorite books which is The Coldest Winter Ever. I am all about incorporating the things that inspire me into my work.
As far as what’s in The Loudest Pen Ever, you’ll have to buy it and read it to find out. I don’t like giving my ink away for free.
