Dear Pennies & Pens,
Earlier today, Mazda’s team came and picked up the 2017 Mazda6. I felt so sad because it felt like the end of an era even though I only had the car for a week, haha! But no seriously, I truly enjoyed my time with the Mazda6. Also, I want to thank Mazda for being so generous by loaning me the car for the week.
So let’s talk about my experience with the car, shall we?! First of all, I absolutely adored this car! It was fantastic! It seriously drives like a dream. And please believe, these Dallas streets ain’t nothing to play with. There are potholes everywhere! It’s actually ridiculous how much damage the streets can cause to your car. But that’s neither here nor there.
Mazda’s team dropped the car off to me last Monday, so I drove the car to all my usual spots. I took the car to work (I have a PT gig) and I work out of coffee shops when working on the business, as well as hanging out with friends. Each time I drove the car, I felt like I was on cloud 9. It’s extremely comfortable and easy to drive.
I adore the exterior and interior design of the car. It’s super chic and stylish. The car is a little bigger than I expected but that’s because I’m used to my itty bitty Mitsubishi. My all time favorite feature of the car was the stereo system. The car has Bose speakers and man those things bump, Pennies & Pens! I had car party (aka dancing off beat) each time I drove the car.
The car has a truly beautiful interior. With plush leather seats, it’s easy to get comfortable in. Plus it’s extremely spacious. I only had a passenger in the car one time (one of my friends), and it felt like she wasn’t even there. I also loved the steering wheel, it made the car easy to drive and maneuver.
I also like the fact that the car had a rearview camera, this made backing out of parking spaces that much easier. The Mazda6 also gives you a warning signal whenever there’s a car in your blind spot so you don’t try and change lanes before it is safe to, I loved this!
Overall my experience with the car was absolutely phenomenal! Although, I do want to let you know that I had 2 minor incidents with the car. I received a parking ticket on Thursday and I sideswiped a parked car while seeking to avoid a head on collision on Saturday morning.
I was absolutely mortified by both incidents because in my 9 years of blogging, I have never had any issues with a sponsor’s product. I always treat their products better than my own. Luckily, I went to a walk in hearing and was found not liable for the parking ticket. As far as the sideswiping incident, I exchanged info with the other car’s owner by leaving a note and since Mazda has insurance, the incident is covered.
I am so thankful to Mazda’s team because they were so understanding about both incidents. I was so relieved because that is every blogger’s worst nightmare. So please let this be a lesson to any blogger or writer reading this, be honest with your sponsor and be sure to treat their products with the utmost care and respect. Also, if you do have a mishap, email or call them right away to let them know. Your honesty and integrity is what helps you maintain good relationships. Having a big readership or follower count is cool but if you’re not trustworthy no one will want to work with you.
And to my Pennies & Pens, I am telling you these stories so you understand that de la Pen…All Pen Everything stands by our tagline, “With us, keeping it real never goes wrong.” I feel like so many online magazines and blogs paint some unrealistic picture of themselves making it seem like they’re perfect. They photoshop everything and don’t tell the full story. But here at de la Pen…All Pen Everything, we admit that we’re not perfect but we’ll always be honest with you.
To wrap this up, I truly enjoyed my experience with the Mazda6. Besides those minor issues, the car was everything I needed and more. It was truly the highlight of my week. I have a friend who has an older model of the Mazda6 and she adores it. So I knew I was going to love this car. And sure enough I did. So if y’all see Penny pushing a Mazda6 in the near future, it’s not a press loan but a car I purchased. I just gotta stack my pennies.
And there it is. de la Pen…All Pen Everything. With us, keeping it real never goes wrong.
