Press Pen: The Pin Show 2017

Dear Pennies & Pens,

Just a couple of weeks ago, I attended one of my favorite Dallas based fashion shows, The Pin Show. The Pin Show is an annual event that features the latest in locally produced, independent fashion. The Pin Show featured 160 walks from more than 22 designers.

The Pin Show featured collections from Dika Obiaju, Jiani Chen, LALA by Laisa Macias, Silk Threads by Ruby Bhandari, Folksie by Julie McCullough (Founder of The Pin Show), and many more. The Pin Show also included performances from local artists, this yearā€™s event included Blue The Misfit, Sam Lao, and Ronnie Heart.

Since Iā€™m still pretty new to the Dallas area, I didnā€™t know the background of The Pin Show until I read the post event press release. As it turns out, Julie McCullough founded The Pin Show along with another fashion designer in 2007. Their original goal was to establish Dallas as the fashion mecca between New York and L.A.

I think that is so cool and I truly believe that can be accomplished. After living here for almost two years, I can honestly say that the people of Dallas can dress, honey! And with events like The Pin Show introducing us to emerging designers, we can all diversify and play with our style event more. So of course, I am going to support events like The Pin Show. I definitely want to be apart of the ā€œteamā€ that solidifies Dallasā€™ place in the fashion/lifestyle industry.

The Pin Show 2017 was a truly amazing event! With a night filled with fashion and music, how could one go wrong?!Ā My favorite designers were DikaĀ Obiaju, Lala Leila, Shira Simone, and Folksie.

Each of these designers presented truly creative and cohesive collections. I adore the classic tailoring in their work with a modern twist. Each design was truly chic and I wish I had them in my closet.

I also adored the music performances by Blue, The MisFit, Sam Lao, and Ronnie Heart. Ronnie Heartā€™s dance moves were pretty epic as well. That boy was getting it, hunty!!! See the IG post here:Ā Ronnie Heart busts a move

The Pin Show 2017 took place at The Bomb Factory and was sponsored by DFW Style Daily, Stila Cosmetics, The Dragon Fly Agency, and many more.

It is truly wonderful to hear that so many companies came together to support such an amazing event. I for one plan to continue to support The Pin Show because it is truly a wonderful event.
