Dear Pennies & Pens,
A few years ago, color blocking was all the rage in fashion. For those that don’t know, color blocking is the practice of wearing an outfit that consists of 2 to 3 bright colors. Each piece would be a different color like a red top and white pants.
Some people still rock color blocked looks but I’m all about the pop of color. A pop of color is the exact opposite of color blocking. A pop of color look features 1 to 2 main colors usually black, white, or grey, with a bright color to jazz up the ensemble.
For this look, I paired a teal top from JustaddJeans with my black Rock & Republic pants, Gianni Bini sandals, and my mom’s Vintage Red clutch. For accessories, I wore my Wal-Mart earrings, and my street vendor necklace.
My beauty look consisted of eyeshadow from Wet N Wild and my lipstick is by Maybelline. The teal top adds a bit of color to jazz up the look but it is the red clutch that steals the show. I get so many compliments every time I wear it.
I have no idea where my mother bought the clutch from, I found it in our basement a couple of years ago and have been rocking it ever since. The shoes are by Gianni Bini and I scored this for $27 a few months ago from Dillard’s.
This look is chic and fabulous. I’ve worn it to go out for drinks and to hang with my girls. It’s comfortable and flyy. I think it expresses my girly tomboy style. The top is loose fitting and the Rock & Republic pants are super comfortable. And you can never go wrong with a pair of black pumps.
