Wino Wednesdays: 5 Fabulous Wines for Under $20

Dear Pennies & Pens,

As you all hopefully know from my previous Wino Wednesdays posts, I absolutely love wine! However, I have noticed that wine can be on the pricier side. But what’s funny is that just because a wine is expensive doesn’t mean it’s good. The same goes for a wine that’s cheaper, it could be just as good as a $200 bottle.

Today, I wanted to share with you guys 5 Fabulous Wines for Under $20. This list includes wines that I have personally tried and can vouch for. All of the wines on this list are whites because I prefer white over red. Also, most of the wines can be purchased online or at local stores that sell wine. With no further adieu, I present to you: 5 Fabulous Wines for Under $20.

1. Polka dot Riesling – I have a serious weakness for Riesling! Something about it makes me happy in a way that I cannot describe. The Polka dot Riesling has pear and nectarine flavors and it’s completely delicious! The taste is smooth, sweet, and just all around lovely. The floral aroma will also awaken your sense of smell. Check it out here: Polka dot Riesling.

2. Kung Fu Girl Riesling – I first tried this wine while still living in NYC, I stopped by a wine shop and asked for a Riesling recommendation and the staff member chose Kung Fu Girl Riesling. I must admit that I am so glad he did because I have been hooked ever since! This wine is made by Charles Smith Wines and they describe it perfectly stating: “So fuckin sexy. This wine kicks ass with tons of complexity showing notes of white peach, Linden leaves, and slate.” It’s phenomenal! Check it out here: Kung Fu Girl Riesling.

3. Chateau Ste Michelle Riesling – This is another Riesling that I just can’t seem to get enough of. I believe I stumbled upon this one in Kroger and it’s been near and dear to my heart ever since. This wine contains a sweet lime and peach taste. It can be paired with a variety of different foods and drank at any time. I love this wine, it’s amazing! Be sure to check it out here: Chateau Ste Michelle Riesling.

4. New Age White Wine – This wine is refreshing and only semi-sweet. I recommend this wine for people who aren’t into sweet wines or sweet wine lovers who want a switch up. It should be served chilled with dessert or a spicy meal. I drank mine with dessert and I have no regrets! My favorite part about this wine is the unique bottle design. It’s artistic, cool and exactly what I’d expect from an Argentinian wine. Check it out here: New Age White Wine.

5. Wine Sisterhood Magical Moscato – This wine marks the one and only Moscato included in this post. I adored this wine because it was everything I needed and more. The best way to describe this wine is found on the website: “Delicious aromas of warm summer peaches with a dusting of lemon zest followed by a lingering floral finish.” It’s a fantastic wine that I highly recommend.
