Dear Pennies & Pens,
So last week, I clearly had a mental breakdown here on the blog. Like I went OFF. Lol. But, I’m glad I did because I needed to get that post out. I couldn’t write another post until I expressed some things that had been on my mind and heart for a long time. I’m proud to say that since I wrote that post, I’ve acquired some contributions to the campaign. Isn’t that fabulous news?!
I’ve also realized that this economy is most likely in a depression not a recession. If you really look around, most people are struggling and living paycheck to paycheck. What’s even worse is that we’re all on social media FLEXING like everything is cool. How many Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook posts have you seen where a person complains about being broke, having relationship issues, hating their job, etc? Sure, you see these posts from time to time but it’s from the minority not the majority.
Most of the posts you see are about how amazing life is, how wonderful and cute the children are, and how blessed the person is to have become so successful. But who’s life is so awesome that every post must reiterate that? To me, if everything was so peachy keen, you wouldn’t need to remind people because we’d already know. And everyone is guilty of the “social media poker face.” Bluffing and stunting like it’s all good when it’s really all bad.
That’s why last week, I decided to say fuck it. My life is in a shitty financial state and I’m doing everything in my power to change it but sometimes, I’m still quite irritated about my situation. I fully intend to continue this trend even if I’m the only person keeping it real on social media. I promised y’all a LOUD Pen and that’s exactly what you’re going to get.
I’m done now. If you felt me on this post: Give LoudPen Ink.
And there it is. de la Pen…All Pen Everything.
