Some of you may remember my review of Fashion Designer, Alessia Prekop’s Fall 2013 collection. If not, check it out here: Press Pen: Alessia Prekop Fall/Winter 2013 Show Review. Alessia is now back with a collection for Fall 2014.
The collection draws on Alessia’s meticulous construction in sculptured, oversized coats in rich textured fabrics – mohair, lamb hair and melange wools belted at the waist and worn with carefully tailored lamb leather pants or textured wool pencil skirts for a slick silhouette.
Beyond the collection, Alessia has been hailed as one to watch for her unique approach to creating innovative and conceptual pieces following the presentation of her Spring/Summer 2014 collection at London Fashion Week and later Autumn/Winter 2014 at New York Fashion Week.
I love Alessia’s ability to create original pieces with fresh shapes and silhouettes. Most of the collection consisted of red, black, and blue. The designs were mostly solids and everything was very minimalistic. My favorite piece was a blue mohair coat. Either way, it would be my go-to winter coat.
