Dear Pennies and Pens,
Nicole from Style Me B.A.D. here and I am so excited to share with you all my thoughts on the amazingly fun show that was the Desigual SS14 runway show during New York Fashion Week.
Spanish fashion label Desigual made their fashion week debut on Thursday Sept. 5th, the first day of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week to a packed out theater in Lincoln Center. While most runway shows during fashion week are more on the serious side, Desigual put on a very vibrant, cheeky and fun show with their models all rocking killer smiles while dancing and strutting down the runway to uptempo tunes.
The show started with a bunch of black and white looks being sent down the runway. The collection seemed to be very 60’s mod inspired complete with printed shift dresses, wide leg pants, floppy hats and big round sunnies. Here are photos of some of my favorite looks of the show.
A really pretty take on red, white and blue that doesn’t have to be worn on the fourth of July.
Bold prints you can rock from top to bottom.
This was the last look of the show and I loved how the dress had a drawstring and a cape!
“The breath of spring brings Mediterranean sunshine, and the happy attitude that the idyllic landscape inspired in its people and culture embodied in our motto of La Vida es Chula, or Life is Cool,” according to the show’s notes. They definitely nailed this message in their show. Did I mention how much I loved the models? They were infectious and I don’t think anyone walked out of the theater feeling anything less than happy. They were stunningly gorgeous and so diverse too, which I appreciated.
I think most of the pieces from the collection are very wearable for the average person and can easily take you from day to night. You can also definitely wear any of these pieces on your next vacation to somewhere warm!
