As you all know, I recently expanded de la Pen…All Pen Everything into an online lifestyle magazine. My goal is to feature only the best international and multicultural fashion, beauty, music, film, sports, and art. In essence, today, I wanted to share the best of Danish Fashion as shown at Copenhagen Fashion Week.
As it states on the website: “Copenhagen Fashion Week happens every January and August and is the Nordic Region’s largest fashion event. More than 50,000 international buyers, designers and press attend Copenhagen Fashion Week twice a year. Danish fashion is known for its unique take on design, which marries modern elegance to playful aesthetics and conceptions of dress.”
I’ve been following Danish Fashion and Copenhagen Fashion Week for awhile now and I completely agree. Danish fashion design is very unique. When I was looking at photos from the Fall/Winter 2013 shows, I noticed that some designers were very avant-garde while others focused on clean lines and silhouettes with minimalistic design.
My favorite designers were: Ayni CPH, Asger Juul Larsen, Bibi Chemnitz, Bruuns Bazaar, By Malene Birger, Benedikte Utzon, Jesper Hovring, and Hugo Boss. Each of these designers has their own original flair and creativity. I liked these designers because their clothing was fresh, wearable, and cool.
