Every designer has a different vision for their collection, its presentation, models, etc. This is one of the many things that makes Fashion Week so interesting, you never know what a show has is in store for you. This season, jewelry designer, Heidi Gardner showcased her version of a “Circus Freakshow” with her Fall/Winter 2013 collection.
The show was held downtown at Parlour NYC. When walking into the cool lower Manhattan lounge, guests were greeted with sweet and spicy popcorn on the tables, and models circling the space in “clown make-up” aka white face paint, dark eye make up, and some were wearing various masks. The jewelry was an extension of Heidi’s previous collections of dark, intricate, and beautiful designs.
There were rings with skull heads, bracelets shaped like bones, and necklaces that featured what looks to be a dead alien as a charm. In essence, this collection was definitely for those with a wicked sense of humor. Someone who isn’t afraid of the dark, in fact, they wear it, they actually think it’s quite fashionable.
