Dear Pennies & Pens,
For those of you that have been reading de la Pen for awhile, you know that I first wrote about Gulnara Karimova in this post: Press Pen: Dream BIG: How Fashion, Uzbekistan, and Gulnara Karimova Inspired Me. I just wanted to update that post as I just attended another event (the M&TVA Arts Awards) that Gulnara was a part of. Gulnara was the chairperson of the M&TVA (Music & TV Video Arts) Awards judging panel.
As previously stated, the M&TVA Awards nominees were chosen by online and SMS votes from the public while the final decision was made by a group of judges who are famous cinema and radio professionals, theater and film actors, and journalists. In essence, as chairperson of the M&TVA Awards judging panel, Gulnara was instrumental in choosing the award winners. Being that emerging Uzbek artists are given a chance to celebrate their accomplishments through the M&TVA Awards, it’s awesome to see an Uzbek icon show her support.
The M&TVA Awards also featured a headlining performance by Ukrainian/Russian Singer, Ivan Dorn. Prior to Ivan’s performance, he presented awards along with Gulnara Karimova. While Ivan was performing, I realized that he is a dynamic performer. He really knew how to entertain the crowd and work the stage. As I said in my earlier post on the M&TVA Awards, I truly enjoyed the event. In essence, I just wanted to give a special shout out post to Gulnara and Ivan.
And there it is. de la Pen…All Pen Everything.
