Dear Pennies & Pens,
As you may or may not know, style icon Daphne Guinness recently partnered with Dr. Valerie Steele, Director of the Museum at FIT to co-curate an exhibition featuring clothing and accessories owned by Daphne. Additionally, the exhibition features films, videos, and images of Daphne.
The exhibition is completely focused on Daphne as she is considered “one of the most stylish women living” as stated by designer Tom Ford. Daphne considers herself to be “not a muse” to designers but “a bee” being that she collects and wears a variety of different designers. In fact, Daphne’s personal collection features iconic pieces from her late friend, Alexander McQueen, as well as Chanel, Dior, Givenchy, Lacroix, Valentino, Nina Ricci and many others.
I had the pleasure of attending the press preview and I took many pictures (almost 200) of this historic exhibition. It is beautiful, elegant and it truly showcases the artistry of Daphne’s style as well as the creativity of the designers she wore. I absolutely loved the exhibition and I highly recommend that you check it out. Admittance to the Museum at FIT is free, for more information check out their website: here. Also, earlier today The Cut blog reported the release of Dr. Steele’s latest book entitled: The Impossible Collection of Fashion, so congrats to Dr. Steele on all of her amazing work!
And there it is. The Fashion & Style of the Pen…de la Pen.
P.S. Check out my Facebook Page for the complete set of pictures.
Stunning evening that was. Daphne was super approachable and friendly. It was a pleasure being there. Just blogged about it myself. Love how you posted an image of my favorite leather bodysuit.
have you uploaded the other 200 images anywhere else?
Leonid
Thanks for the comment! I checked out your blog and I really like your work. And no, I haven’t uploaded the images anywhere else. I usually just use Facebook b/c it’s easier and my fans can see it. Thanks again for the kind words 🙂
