Dear Pennies,
First off, please forgive me for posting the first Model Mondays of 2011 late. For the first 2011 Model Mondays, I decided to feature Shu Pei Qin because this Chinese beauty caught my eye just as 2010 was ending. Shu Pei has been modeling since 2007, and ever since then she has been a favorite amongst the press and designers. Shu Pei was recently featured in the Vera Wang S/S 2011 campaign, the Gap F/W 2010 campaign, and she signed a cosmetics contract with Maybelline cosmetics in October of 2010.
Shu Pei has walked in prestigious shows like Dior, Galliano, Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Jason Wu, and DKNY. Shu Pei has also done numerous magazine covers and editorials. Shu Pei has appeared on Vogue China, Chinese Elle, and Teen Vogue. Shu Pei has been in editorials for W Magazine, Harper’s Bazaar China, Vogue China, Elle China, and Rouge Magazine. Since Shu Pei has been all over the runways and in & out of the top fashion magazines one can bet that her career is just now getting started.
I think it is lovely to see fashion opening itself up to diversity by embracing models of color. Shu Pei is showing that Chinese beauty is real and relevant to Western culture. Additionally, the more Shu Pei walks the runways of top designers and is featured in their ad campaigns, the more her face is seen and people will begin to recognize her name. With Shu Pei we have a supermodel in the making. Just you wait and see.
And there it is. The Fashion and Style of the Pen…de la Pen.

Totally agree! She is beautiful, think we should see more models from different ethnic backgrounds. Great pictures in the post
